Open in Prayer.
Summary:
God has placed a flame—His calling, gifting, and purpose—inside each of us, but life has a way of dimming it through fear, hurt, or delay. Like Moses, we are called not only to hear God’s voice, but to reject passivity, overcome fear, and take bold steps of obedience—even before we see the full picture. When we respond in faith, the flame is reignited, and we begin to walk in the authority and purpose God has already prepared for us.
Key Scriptures:
2 Timothy 1:3–7
Exodus 3:1–15
Exodus 4:18
Discussion Questions:
1. 2 Timothy 1:6 says to “fan into flame the gift of God.” What part of your calling or spiritual passion has started to dim? What would it look like to intentionally reignite it this week?
2. In Exodus 3:4–6, God calls Moses by name and meets him in the wilderness. Where in your life do you feel God is trying to get your attention right now?The message asked: “How do I overcome my fear or hurt?”
3. In Exodus 3:11, Moses protests God’s calling. What fear, hurt, or insecurity are you being challenged to reject by faith?
4. In Exodus 3:14, Moses asks, “Who sent me?” and God answers, “I AM.” Why do we often want credibility from people when God has already given us His authority? How does that shape your confidence?
5. Pastor Devin asked: “What by faith am I having to reject?” What lies, limitations, or habits might be trying to snuff out the flame of God’s calling in your life?
6. Exodus 4:18 shows Moses taking a quiet but important step of obedience. What first step do you sense God is asking you to take—even before you have clarity on what’s next?
7. In light of 2 Timothy 1:7, which says God has given us power, love, and self-control, which of those three do you feel you need most right now to step fully into your assignment?
